Art Wellness Group 6/15/23
During this class, we explored mark-making & pattern-making and how these art-making techniques help with grounding and self-reflection.
Recommended materials: Pencil; pen (or permanent marker); colored pencils.
I forgot to press record at the beginning (eeeek)! So, I have added the steps below.
Using a pencil or pen, start making a line (straight/wavy/zig-zag/curly) somewhere on the page. You can place these lines/marks anywhere on the page. You may start from the center of the page, from the outer edges of the page, or work randomly.
Once you have made a few lines/marks, begin to connect the ends of the lines to make a shape. Continue this process with all your lines/marks.
Build your art from there. You can add details inside your shapes, or connect shapes. Consider using repetition to create a design.
Add color.
I ask some questions at the end of the video. You can use those for post-journaling if you’d like.
